| In less than a month until I leave for the great state of Texas. Wow, just last week I was fishing with my friend back in the little creek. I was six and the world was mine to control and rule over. Now, as I prepare to depart on this new adventure, the world is more confusing than ever and the only place I want to be is back in that little creek. I feel old, lost, confused, and desperate for some divine intervention. Do you ever feel like growing up is just a big nightmare that we have to go through? With everything that is on my mind and all the decisions I have to make its a beautiful thing to be able to give things to God. "Here you go God, take it, I give it to you". Makes me feel sorry for the people who don't turn to God. | | |
| Well it is finished. Stephen’s Graduation is over. Thanks to those who made it. David surprised us and came home. Everyone knew he was coming, even my boss. It was the best surprise for Stephen and me, it was great just to see him, and can’t wait till IMI in the fall. I blew a blood vessel in my right foot on Sunday afternoon. It swelled up three times its normal size. Went to the doctor today and got an x-ray. I don’t think it’s broken because I can walk on it tonight. I hope it’s not broke; I go back to work tomorrow. I got pictures of it with Amanda’s camera and will post them when I get them from her. That’s about it, hope everyone is doing good. | | |
| What would happen to us as people on earth if all electricity would cease to exist? Everything we rely on, everything we use is, in some way, gotten from electricity. Think about it. What do you use in your everyday life that has nothing to do with electric? The computer I am typing this on, phones, cars, refrigerators, tools, cell phones, alarm clocks, ice cream trucks. They all have something to do with electric. Now, in my Sunday school group we are going thru the book of Revelations, I have realized how God will use the sun to judge the earth. most of the time the sun will bring heat and burn the earth, but in Rev. 6:12 it says the sun will become black, | Passage Revelation 6:12:The Sixth Seal--Terror 12I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood. |
I will not be here for the BIG blackout, but those who are I do feel sorry for. Reading through Revelation has opened my eyes a little more too how much I have and how much God has given me. It is hard for me to realize everything I have when I use it every day and throughout my day. It is just another area of my life that is blessed by God. What are some things you take for granted about electricity that God Himself has blessed you with? | | |
| Well, just one more week till Stephen’s graduation. I can’t wait till it is all over. We went to the park to have a picnic for father’s day. Playing catch and cards, good food and fellowship are always enjoyable. Even though the park was a little crowded and there were people all around it was serene. For me it’s nice just to get away from the normal and just do something abnormal. I beat dad, mom, and Steve in hearts, which was fun. Tomorrow starts another week and I am on my last leg, so I think this is all I am going to write right now, maybe some more tomorrow. Goodnight, Dan | | |
| A jackrabbit is a good illustration of a man in today’s society. The jackrabbit is completely content in its field of clover, crunching away on beautiful sweet carrots, and just lounging in the sun. Now granted, he sill has to work for his food and survive the elements but that’s what makes a jackrabbit so parallel with a man. Men love to get a sense of accomplishment, a little pride in there work, and they still love to lie in the sun. But, for every jackrabbit there is a hawk. This hawk has razor sharp talons that puncture the flesh of unsuspecting jackrabbits. As the hawk sees her pray and dives to capture it, the jackrabbit is hopping contently along in its own peacefulness. The hawk grabs the jackrabbit and carries him away from his peaceful habitat, from all he knew, never to see it again. The hawk, as she grins with satisfaction, carries the jackrabbit to her nest. Her young are hungry and the jackrabbit gets torn to pieces, used, and what’s left is just a skeleton of a once happy jackrabbit. The jackrabbit (or what’s left of him) just lays there thinking of his life, trying to find something that was good after the hawk took him away. He thought of something, something that made him smile inside...…………………… ….the hawk showed him how to fly. | | |
